Two Reasons to Get an Unlocked Phone

      In my opinion, unlocked phones are so much better than being tied down for two years. But there are two main reasons to this opinion. The first is simple. Money. With a two year contract from AT&T you are paying about $2500 for two years. With an unlocked phone, the cost for two years drops to $1800. Why is this? Well, AT&T plans are about $85/month for an unlimited plan. Yeah, I DID use plan twice in the same sentence because it's that important. When you make the wise decision to switch to an unlocked phone, with a $50/month plan, you are free.
      This brings me to my next point. With an unlocked phone, you can pretty much switch phones whenever you want to. Yes, the cost of the phones is greater, but it is well worth it. You can get a phone of any kind. Got T-Mobile? Get an iPhone! (Or wait a few months until they are available) If your a tech reviewer, and want to test the service and 4G speeds of different phones, pop the Sim card in it, and give it a whirl.
       Speaking of T-Mobile, they are removing phone subsidies from their market very very soon. This gives buyers the option to buy their phones out front and have a $50/month plan. OR, they can get their plans, and take a 'value' approach by paying a set price up front for the device, and pay small installments each month. This is a revolutionary idea to come from this phone company.
      So to wrap things up, just get an unlocked phone. It saves money, and there are so many more options. Verizon's plans are outrageous, and two year contracts are inconvenient. Do the smart thing, and put a few bucks in your pocket and a smile on your face.
