Gadgetech: Google Nexus 4 Back on the Market!

At long last! The Google Nexus 4 is back on the market! This phone started shipping last November, and was out of stock almost as quickly as it was made available. This great new device has been craved by many consumers since it's unfortunate disappearance.

According to Their Calculations...
Google's calculations on the initial sale of this device were WAY off, and not just by a little bit. MILLIONS of consumers are left without this phone because of their poor estimates. The blame for this was initially pointed at LG, who is the manufacturer of this device. Why would they be to blame, if they were just following orders?! Silly internet...

WOW! That's a Steep Ramp!
While LG was blamed for the shortage of the Nexus 4, they are also the only solution to the problem. LG has announced that they have, and will continue to ramp up production of the device to meet the demands of the consumer. Well isn't that just great! No sarcasm intended, that is some of the best news that I have heard in a while. One of those consumers is me, and I am eagerly awaiting my opportunity to get my hands on this product!

Hallo Aus Deutschland!
For anybody who didn't hurry to put that into Google Translate, that means "Hello from Germany!". Why is this placed in the middle of my post? Well, Germany is the only place that still had (emphasis on had) the Nexus 4 in stock! Germany still has the device in stock, but it is now available in both the US and Canada. For those of you looking to order this device, check out the links at the end of this post. There will be two links to the Google page to purchase the unlocked model from them (both 8gb and 16gb). In addition to this, there will also be a link to the T-Mobile website where you can purchase this device for a subsidized price with a new 2 yr. Agreement. I'm not sure if that applies to an upgrading two year agreement, you will have to look into that at checkout.
Thanks for reading, and stay tuned for availability updates for the Nexus 4!

Monday's Post: Design Page Teaser

There will be no actual tech news today, but expect it every other day this week! I have a lot planned! Today is just a little bit of a teaser pic. Like I said yesterday, I plan on releasing my dedicated design page on Friday! It is coming along quite nicely, very sleek, and clearly displays my work in a variety of different ways. Not only the format which you see in this teaser, but 5 different layouts for the page, all rolled into one! You get to personally decide how you want my site to look on your own devices! There is also a brand new mobile layout. Here is the teaser pick of just one of the styles that you will be able to choose from.

NOTE- This page is not complete, so it is a bit empty. But that's the joy of a teaser! Watermark front and center!

$5 Designing!/ Indiegogo Computer Build & Giveaway!

Well, here is the announcement. I am officially making this post to kick off my $5 designing service! This is just a way for you guys, my audience, to get a quality design for a cheap price. So it's a great opportunity for you guys, a great way for me to become more experienced in the Photoshop environment, and just a good way for me to make a little bit of extra cash. There will be a gadget added to the left sidebar tomorrow so that you can contact me about this service.
Also coming this week is the dedicated blog page to display my work. Not to many actual posts on that blog, but lots and lots of logos, banners, headers, etc.! This site will directly coincide with this blog, my main posting source. So whenever you need a little reassurance before trusting in me, or just want to see some nice fresh design, check that out! ETA for that is Friday, Feb. 1 2013.
My first header with this service was completed earlier this evening, and was for Wire Munch. I will display that at the bottom of this post. The next will be done for Curtis Coburn over at SFI. Check out his blog HERE for great Linux news and more. Speaking of Linux, he has started an indiegogo project for a Linux build and giveaway! He is trying to raise $750 for this project in 60 days, so be sure to give even $5 to that project for a chance to win that build! Check that out HERE to see all the perks you can earn from funding this project. So that's about it, so stay tuned for much more!

Designing at Wire Munch

Recently (by recently I mean today..) I got accepted for a designing position at Wire Munch. The majority of you reading this have no idea what this is. Wire Munch is a site that will not only post tech news, but also promote crowdfunding projects done trough Indiegogo, Kickstarter, etc. Check out there website, which is currently in alpha, and give them some ideas, feedback, and whatever you feel like really. Instructions on how to do this are implemented into that site as well. I will leave a link at the end of this post.
So back to the designing job. It is a start-up foundation, so there is no pay yet. From what I have heard, I will be working along side one other designer, who I have yet to find out about. I am very excited for this opportunity. Not only to get my name out there, but to assist somebody else in their venture to start up something great!

Nexus 7 Wallpaper

I just changed the colors around and changed the size.
The size that worked for me was 1440x1280 and 144ppi. Worked like a charm. The image is also slightly tweaked from my last post. I fixed an uneven gap and aligned the edges better.

QuikBit #13: Designing (JS Design)

Wow, 2 posts in 10 minutes! Honestly though, I just didn't want to forget to post this.. This is an important topic for me. I have been designing for 'clients' for a while now, and I thought it was time to make a new logo for my service (JS Design). This logo is very simple, but completely custom and unique. I will use this as a watermark for proofs of photos, and photos that I create to post on my blog. Along with this logo, I will soon be creating a dedicated blog or website for my design. This site won't necessarily be for advertising my design services, but more for displaying my work. If your going to make a name for yourself, you have to show people what you can do! Although, there will be a "$5 Design" tab where you can email me and  i'll hook you up with a logo, flyer, etc. for only $5. I won't go into details about that, because I have a dedicated post coming tomorrow for that. But here is the new logo/watermark for JS Design.

Blog Design Update

As you notice when you get to my blog page, some things have changed. The first thing you'll notice is the new header. I thought it was time to update that banner since it is a new year. The next difference is the background color. Now this isn't a major change, but it definitely makes things pop out a little bit more. The actual blog post section in the middle has been expanded so that that is the biggest thing that you will notice on the page. The last thing is the gadgets. I used to have a transparent background on them, and that was nice for the burgundy blog theme. They have been updated with a black background, which gives you the ability to easily glance and find the gadget that you are looking for. My purpose in updating my blog was to make it a little bit easier on the eyes. I felt like there was to much going on with all the reds. That is all!
